Sole (pronounced So-lay, from the French word for sun, soleil) is a super-concentrated solution of water that has been fully saturated with natural salt. Even though it doesn’t sound too tasty, the health-boosting benefits of sole make it somewhat easier to swallow!
Now, while many of us have grown up believing salt is a dietary no-no, note that we’re talking about natural salt, not white table salt which is generally stripped of any natural goodness and may even have highly processed nasties added in.
Natural salt, such as Himalayan pink salt, is jam-packed with around 84 trace minerals that support the body. Taking a spoonful of Sole everyday is a great way to get these minerals (which are tricky to get anywhere else) into the body!
Sole is much more than salted water. It’s a solution that has absorbed as much natural salt as is possible, creating a super-charged natural tonic.
Are you ready to try making your own Sole?
You’ll need: –
1x 1 litre glass jar with a plastic or non-metal lid
1 cup Himalayan pink salt (ground or crystals)
1 litre filtered water
Pour salt into the jar.
Top with water, leaving 1-2cm at the top
Pop on the lid and shake gently
Leave on the bench overnight
In the morning, check your sole. If there is a small amount of undissolved salt in the jar, this means the water cannot absorb any more salt, and is ready.
If no salt remains, add a little more salt and repeat the overnight process until some salt remains.
Use your Sole at room temperature. Add a teaspoon to a glass of water, first thing in the morning. Sole is best taken on an empty stomach.
