Bronchitis Treatment with Salt Therapy

How Salt Therapy can help Bronchitis

Salt Therapy is a natural gentle, non invasive, drug free therapy that offers support to the relief of bronchitis symptoms. By sitting in our specially designed salt room, your respiratory system will be exposed to microscopic dry aerosol particles of salt that are inhaled into the lungs. Salt has natural anti-histamine, anti-inflammatory, anti- bacterial  and anti-fungal properties which help relieve inflammation and congestion in the airways. As the dry salt is breathed in, it passes through the airways, breaking up or loosening congestion and helping the body to expel the excess congestion and mucus. It helps reduce the inflammation throughout the bronchi resulting in easier breathing and aiding the body to eliminate and heal.

Recommended Treatment

Acute Bronchitis – usually follows a cold or viral infection and is shorter in length.

Intensity is the key to your Salt Therapy success with acute bronchitis.

The best results from Salt Therapy for acute bronchitis is achieved with an intensive treatment. The earlier you come in, the better, even when you first feel a cold coming on. However, if the infection has gone to your chest and becomes bronchitis, we can still help and speed up recovery. We highly recommend Salt Therapy 3 times within a week as this will help expel the congestion and mucus sitting on your chest in the bronchi. The following week we recommend twice, because usually the infection would have cleared and the chest will be clearer. A final treatment in the third week will make sure you have cleared any lingering congestion and will help reduce any lingering cough. Our salt therapist works with you one on one to devise a program that will suit you best and check in with you regularly to ensure we are providing the best supportive care.

Our 6 treatments package is the best value for acute bronchitis.

Chronic Bronchitis –  ongoing inflammation and congestion

Frequency is the key to your Salt Therapy success with chronic bronchitis.

The best results from Salt Therapy for chronic bronchitis are achieved with an intensive treatment to start, to loosen up the congestion. This may be twice or more times per week depending on your severity. We then start reducing the visits in the salt room as your body responds to the treatment; this then will drop down to an ongoing maintenance program. Our salt therapist works with you one on one to devise a program that will suit you best and check in with you regularly to ensure we are providing the best supportive care.

Salt Therapy works well as a preventative treatment as we are constantly breathing in pollutants and allergens which can irritate the lungs with chronic bronchitis. When our lungs are weakened, it can have a significant effect on our health. The smallest cold can result in weeks of sickness. Breathing in salt as part of your ongoing maintenance can help the body to heal faster and remove irritants fast. Salt Therapy is not a cure; it is a support for your lungs to help open and relieve inflammation and congestion throughout your airways.

The best value is our unlimited monthly pass when attending twice or more times per week. As your treatment intensity reduces, we recommend our session packages.

What is Bronchitis?Salt Therapy can help to ease Bronchitis

Bronchitis is when the lining of the bronchial tubes (the airway between the nose and lungs) becomes inflamed or infected. Inflammation or swelling of the bronchial tubes is caused by  viruses, bacteria and other particles that irritate the airways. When you have bronchitis it’s harder to breathe oxygen into your lungs. You will also have heavy mucus
or phlegm forming in the airways.

Acute bronchitis is a shorter illness (usually 10 -14 days) that commonly follows a cold or viral infection. It generally consists of a cough with green sputum, chest discomfort or soreness and a fever.

Chronic bronchitis is characterised by a persistent, mucus-producing cough on most days. People with chronic bronchitis have varying degrees of breathing difficulties, and symptoms may get better and worsen during different seasons throughout the year.
