Psoriasis Treatment with Salt Therapy

How Salt Therapy can help Psoriasis

Salt Therapy is a non invasive, gentle topical treatment that can reduce the inflammation and redness of skin. By exposing your skin during a Salt Therapy treatment, the microscopic dry aerosol particles of salt will land on the skin and can result in improvements in the skin’s protective properties and superficial bacteria flora (the good bacteria on our skin). The natural anti-histamine, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties found in salt help balance the pH levels and induce regenerative processes in the skin.

Not only is exposing your skin to the salt helping but also the inhalation of salt as it is relieving congestion and inflammation in the respiratory system. This increases the level of oxygen in the circulation system, which helps the skin’s subcutaneous layer.

Recommended Treatment

Frequency is the key to your Salt Therapy success with psoriasis.

The best results from Salt Therapy for Psoriasis

are achieved with an intensive treatment to start. This may be twice or more times per week depending on your severity. As your body responds to the treatment and your symptoms reduce, we start dropping down the intensity of the visits, with the goal to find what is the best ongoing maintenance program for your body. This will vary from person to person. Our salt therapist works with you one on one to devise a program that will suit you best and check in with you regularly to ensure we are providing the best supportive care.

For faster results we pair this with all natural creams that we have sourced and tested to have very fast and effective results. These are available to test when you come in. Check out more information on our natural skincare products.

The best value is our unlimited monthly pass when attending twice or more times per week. As your treatment intensity reduces, we recommend our session packages.

What is Psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition where skin cells are growing at faster rate than they can be shed, causing excess skin to build up and form scaly patches on the body. It appears to be a buildup of dry skin on your body. It starts with the skin cracking just like a paper cut on your fingertips. This skin would begin to die, flake, peal and itch. As you scratch the area, it begins to get red, blister, flake and peel to raw skin – in severe cases it can crack and bleed.Salt therapy is great for skin conditions like Psoriasis

There are different types of psoriasis:

  • Inverse psoriasis occurs in the armpit, under the breast and in the skin folds around the groin, buttocks and genitals.
  • Guttate psoriasis often affects children and young adults.
  • Plaque psoriasis is the most common form. About 80% of people with psoriasis have plaque psoriasis. It can appear anywhere on the skin surface. The knees, elbows, scalp, trunk and nails are the most common locations.
