Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a Salt Therapy treatment?
Adults: 45 minutes
Children 11-16 yrs: 45 minutes
Children 1-10 yrs: 30 minutes
Infants: 15-20 minutes

Please arrive 10 minutes before your first appointment to fill out your paperwork.

There is a 15 minute gap between each session in order to filter and purify the room.

Late arrivals will not be allowed to enter the room.

Can I have a longer or shorter treatment?

The treatment times are recommended for the best results. If you would like a shorter treatment, you will need to arrange prior to entry as there are other people relaxing in the room and movement is distracting.

What do I wear for Salt Room Therapy?
Wear comfortable clothing. The salt air will not harm your clothing, nor leave a noticeable residue.

What is the temperature of the salt room?
The salt room is not heated or cooled; it remains at a normal comfortable room temperature.

What do I do once I’m in the room?
Our salt therapy rooms are a retreat from the world. The rooms are dark and lit with beautiful salt lamps which create a beautiful ambience. Lie back in our relaxing chairs and breathe normally. You can read, meditate, listen to music, sleep, draw or write if you wish. Reading lights are on all chairs. Health is only one of the reasons you’ll return.

We also have an area for children as well which they can play with toys or read a book. Instead of building sand castles, build salt castles. The kids corner is a playground that little ones will love to explore. Children and adult treatments are separate. Children will not be in adult treatment sessions.

Can we talk in the salt room?
No, the salt room is a quiet zone as there are other people in the room who come for quiet, meditation and relaxation. Group bookings are possible where you can just have your group of friends and family in the room with you. Please contact us for special group bookings.

How many people are in the salt room?
The main salt room can hold up to 6-7 people. There may be 1 or 2 in the session with you or there may be 5-6, it will depend on the day. There is a private room available for individual treatments or for those who are infectious or with skin conditions.

Child treatments: There may be other children in with your child. Up to 4-5 children can go in the room at one time and must be accompanied by an adult.

What does it feel like?
Salt Therapy is a relaxing, peaceful and rejuvenating experience. While sitting in the room you are surrounded by the fine salt particles and negative ions created in the air. Sometimes people detect a subtle and pleasant salt taste on their lips or at the back of their throat. Salt Therapy deeply relaxes the body and often people do fall asleep. Whatever happens for you is perfect and right for your body to heal.

How many treatments should I have?
Each individual has a different requirement and it depends on your ailment. Usually it starts with intensive treatment followed by an ongoing maintenance treatment plan. We will discuss this with you when you come in to see us. See our treatment page for more information on our suggested treatment options.

Are there any side effects?
Salt Therapy is 100% natural and has no known side effects.

Can I catch anything from other people in the salt room?
The microclimate of our salt rooms is sterile; the salt is naturally anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal. The salt in the room is constantly cleansing and purifying the air.

For those in an infectious stage of their illness we have a private room for use. Please advise at time of booking.

Is Salt Therapy a substitute for medical treatment?
No, Salt Therapy is a complementary therapy and should only be used as an adjunct to medical advice.
